Shopping & Culture
Phuket is home to two major shopping centers, where tourists and locals can find great import and export products and bargains. Central Festival Phuket and Jung Ceylon both house many stores for men, women and children, export sales, international restaurants and SFX cinemas.
There are also many local stores, markets and night bazaars, where you can find all sorts of local handicrafts, fashion, jewelry, art and more.
Phuket town has many historical Sino-Portuguese style buildings to visit along with art galleries, cafes and temples. This town is full of contrasts, colour and culture.
Dining & Nightlife
Thailand is notorious for its exotic cuisine. There are many excellent Thai restaurants to choose from on all corners of the island as well as international cuisine with great chefs from around the world.
The local and tourist way of life in Phuket is to eat out for most meals, which is an easily adopted habit when the food is so delicious and the prices are so reasonable.
Thailand is also famous for is the colorful nightlife. Patong, located approximately 30 minutes from Grove Gardens, is the heart and center of nightlife in Phuket, famous for Bangla Road, which contains more bars, lights, and clubs than you could ever imagine fitting on one street.
In Patong you can find anything from the famous “lady boys” parading around in feathers at the popular “ Simon’s Cabaret” to electronic music from Europe played in the big nightclubs located on the Patong beachfront. If you feel like having a nice lounge experience with a beach view, you can also try Indochine, the newest and hottest addition to the Phuket nightlife scene.
